Kings Island is set to start the park's 47th season of family entertainment, including the 40th birthday of wooden roller coaster classic, The Beast.
According to HomeToGo.com, Holiday World ranked 16th among the top 50 theme parks for affordability in the annual Theme Park Price Index.
USA Today's Readers' Choice Awards named Kings Island's Halloween Haunt No. 1 for Best Theme Park Halloween Event and WinterFest No. 2 for Best Theme Park Holiday Event in 2018.

Where is Kings Island?
Kings Island is located near Cincinnati at 6300 Kings Island Dr., Mason, Ohio.
When does Kings Island open?
Kings Island opened for the season on Friday, May 3. Soak City's opening day is May 25.
What are Kings Island's hours?
The theme park is open May through October. Hours vary by month and change on select days. Click here for the park's hours.
How much are Kings Island tickets?
Single-day regular tickets range from $47.99-$51.99 depending on the date, and any-day, single-use tickets are $52.99. Single-day and any-day junior and senior tickets are $39.99. Seniors are ages 62 and older. Juniors are ages 3 and and older under 48 inches tall. Children 2 and younger are free.
Sling Shot and Xtreme Flyer require separate admission.
Are there any Kings Island ticket discounts?
There are several discounts available on the King's Island website. These tickets must be purchased at least one day in advance and are only good for the dates purchased:
- 2019 Indy Super Saver Package: Valid through Sept. 2 for ages 3 and older. Indianapolis residents can purchase a $39.99 ticket that includes admission, parking and a drink wristband for unlimited fountain beverages. Offer available online only.
- Kids Free Admission Offer: Valid through June 14. Buy and adult/regular ticket for $52.99 and score a junior ticket for free. Offer good except for Saturdays.
- 4 Pack of Fun: Save up to $55 with this admission and parking package starting at $35 per person good through June 14. Offer excludes Saturdays. Other restrictions may apply.
- Admission and Fast Lane Plus: The Fast Lane Plus Combo ticket can save up to $41 starting at $108 per person and allows you to skip the lines on your favorite attractions.
- All Inclusive Ticket: This ticket includes admission, parking, all-day dining, Fast Lane Plus, a regular souvenir bottle and a single day FunPix photo pass starting at $145 per person. The deal can save up to $98.
- Coaster Combo Ticket: This ticket is good through Oct. 27 is good for one day at Kings Island and a day at Cedar Point starting at $65. Offer does not include admission to Cedar Point Shores Water Park. Not valid for WinterFest. Other restrictions may apply.
How much is a Kings Island season pass?
Kings Island offers three season pass options: the regular pass, the gold pass and the platinum pass. Current pricing goes up on May 28.
- Regular Pass: Unlimited visits to the park through Labor Day. Not valid for free parking, Halloween Haunt or WinterFest. Cost is $120 per pass or five payments of $19 after initial $25 down payment. Taxes and fees not included.
- Gold Pass: Unlimited visits and free parking on every public operating day in 2019. Offer includes exclusive discounts, early park access, and more. Cost is Taxes and fees not included. Cost is $115 per pass or five payments of $18 after initial $25 down payment. Taxes and fees not included.
- Platinum Pass: Enjoy all the Gold Pass perks at Kings Island, as well as all Cedar Fair Parks including Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, Knott's Berry Farm and more. Cost is $218 per pass or five payments of $35.50 after initial $40.50 down payment. Taxes and fees not included.

How much is Kings Island parking?
Daily parking is $20. Save $3 by buying regular parking in advance online for $17. Buy preferred parking in advance online for $27 to park closer to the front gate.
How many Kings Island rides are there?
There are more than 100 rides, including 17 water park rides, 16 roller coasters, 13 family rides and five thrill rides. Planet Snoopy includes 17 kids rides, including two previously mentioned roller coasters.
Trade publication Amusement Today uses the Golden Ticket Awards to recognize the best theme parks and theme park offerings in the industry.
Kings Island's Planet Snoopy was named 2018's Best Kids' Area and ranks No. 4 for Halloween and Christmas events. The Beast is the No. 5 wooden roller coaster with Mystic Timbers ranking at No. 11. The Diamondback checks in at No. 10 for steel roller coasters.
Does Kings Island offer dining deals?
Yes. There are four food and drink specials available at the park.
- Souvenir Bottle: Save $2 when you buy a bottle online for $11.99. The first use of the season is free. Each refill is $1. Refills limited to 15-minute intervals. Other restrictions may apply.
- All Season Drink Refills: This online beverage option allows you to get free unlimited drink refills with or without the souvenir bottle for $29.99. Refills limited to 15-minute intervals. Other restrictions may apply.
- All Day Dining: Score an entree and a side at any of the participating park restaurants for one day when pay $29.99 online. Valid through Oct. 27. Limited to 90-minute intervals between meals. Other restrictions may apply.

What's new at Kings Island in 2019?
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the list begins with Kings Mill Antique Autos bringing back a track with Model T antique-style cars based off the Les Taxis ride that closed in 2004.
The Beast will return to the original orange and red car colors, and the white footprints walking up to the ride are back after a 20-year hiatus. The welcome area at International Street and Royal Fountain received some upgrades, including a fountain and fireworks show debuting Memorial Day weekend.
Miami River Brewhouse is now open across from Mystic Timbers and offers appetizers, beer from local breweries, burgers, sandwiches and salads. The eatery is included in the park's dining plans.
Finally, Grand Carnivale will run 5 p.m. nightly from June 15-July 7. The event offers a 40-minute Spectacle of Light parade and a Carnivale Street Party until closing. Celebrate the sights, sounds and tastes from cultures around the world.
What are Kings Island cabanas?
Cabanas are available at Beakers Bay and Tidal Wave Bay inside Soak City Waterpark. Gold and Platinum Pass holders receive a $20 discount.
- Beakers Bay: These 10-foot by 10-foot cabanas offer space for up to six guests, two chaise lounge chairs, a lock box and towel service for $107.48 online.
- Tidal Wave Bay: These cabanas have the same amenities as Beakers Bay but also include poolside food and beverage service, a stocked mini-fridge, a 32-inch flat screen TV with Cincinnati Bell Fioptics cable access and a complimentary selection of sundries starting at $144.86 online.
How far is Kings Island from Indianapolis?
Google Maps shows Kings Island as mostly a straight shot on Interstate 74 East and Interstate 275 North. Drive time is approximately two hours, one minute from Indianapolis.
Does Kings Island offer hotels or camping?
Kings Island does not offer any onsite camping or stays. However, the park's website offers booking options for Great Wolf Lodge, preferred hotels and links to area campgrounds.
